Welcome to 2021!
I planned to jump right into talking about 2021; however, it seems impossible to start this year without reflecting on 2020. It was quite unique, wasn’t it? A tiny virus completely upended the world as we knew it, forced us into uncomfortable places, and caused us to grow in unexpected ways. Everyone got a course in Advanced Life 501. For example, who knew I could become so proficient at using Zoom? I am grateful for this ICF Minnesota community and how it supported the coaching profession during 2020. As a group, we responded quickly and continued to provide high-quality programming along with a supportive community. We had groups like the Creative Exchange who met daily for several weeks, the in-person events turned into virtual Zoom events, and the Diversity and Inclusion book club which was born to name a few. I appreciate the flexibility and support each of you demonstrated.
It is exciting to think about 2021. We can take our learnings from 2020 and apply them as we move forward. We can look forward to great programming along with the hope of meeting in person later this year! We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated through the Catalyst, our website, and meeting announcements.
Although the skies have been dreary and overcast lately, I have been thinking about a song, “Mr. Blue Sky” by ELO. The song is energetic and joyfully talks about the return of the sun after the rain. It always lifts my spirits. Similarly, when I remind myself of the clear, brilliant blue sky always above me, even if obscured by clouds, it makes me smile. It has been my way of approaching things with a positive mindset. “Mr. Blue Sky” runs through my head when I think of ICF Minnesota. Our future looks bright because of each of you. I look forward to serving you and working with you in this upcoming year.
Happy New Year!

ICF MN Coaching Diversity Program and Grant- HOW CAN I HELP?
As you may already know, ICF MN has created a Coaching Diversity Program to develop 10 ICF credentialed coaches of color. This is the first program of its kind. We will be writing a grant to fund the majority of the program. Here is how you can help!
Donations: The cost of this program will be $85,000. It is more likely that we will receive a grant if we already have some financial support. ICF MN is giving a grant of $5,000, we are asking ICF Global to support us as well. We have currently received $35,000.00 in donations from around the U.S. Read more... |
Meet Nirav Sheth
1. What brought you to coaching?
A strong desire to help people live happier and more fulfilling lives. After a 25-year career as an Executive in the Healthcare industry, I wanted to switch my career in a way that directly impacts people in a positive way. I have been volunteering as a Meditation Instructor for over 10 years, and coaching naturally emerged as a wonderful way to fulfill my higher calling of serving people and helping them live more peaceful and happier lives.
2. Tell us about your coaching practice. (Niche, ideal client, etc.)
I am a Life Coach specializing in mental fitness and life planning, which leads to increased happiness and fulfillment in the lives of my clients. My coaching and consulting firm is Stratosphere, LLC (www.stratosphere-llc.com).
I offer a 6-week Mental Fitness Program that has been demonstrated by research at Stanford to improve happiness, relationships and performance. Read more... |
