Seasons – How they come and go
So, what is a “season”? We all know the seasons when it comes to the weather, how they show up sometimes early sometimes late and sometimes it seems like they last forever. No matter what season we are in there are times when we love it and other times where we are just ready for it to be done.
How do we recognize them and use them to propel us forward to continue to learn and grow? I often think about the different seasons in many areas. There are the obvious, for instance, a child starting at birth to adult hood, think about how many seasons they move through. So many it is hard to count. With each of them there is tremendous growth that happens to move through and to the next season.
In life, many of us have experienced hundreds of seasons in friendships, relationships, career changes, single, married, parent, grandparent, etc. They can come fast and furious Read more...

Use of Self - The Most Important Tool in Coaching - Webinar
Register Here!
Speaker: Pam McLean, PhD.,| MCC| CEO & Founder| Hudson Institute
Date: Thursday, October 22, 2020
Time: 12 PM - 1:30 PM
Location: Zoom
CEU's: 1 Core Competency and .5 Resource Competency
Description:
Our 'Self as Coach' work begins 'at home' and by 'home', we mean 'one's internal landscape'. It's unfortunate that not all coaches choose this journey, but those who do, will gain a clearer framework for getting to know themselves, exploring their multiple layers, and awakening their latent abilities so that they can better foster the abilities of others.
Pam McLean's 'Self as Coach' approach interweaves six broad dimensions of one's internal landscape into the fabric of great coaching through "using the self as an instrument". A key dimension of developmental coaching emphasizes the whole person. This comprehensive self-work helps to create lasting improvements--unlike more common remedial, tactical, or performance-based programs, which often only function as short-term solutions.

1. What brought you to coaching?
From the time I was 22 and a new nurse, I was frustrated by our healthcare system. It seemed like people came into the hospital, we got them well enough to go home, and then within a month or two they were back needing similar care all over again. I became disillusioned with the healthcare system and its limitations. At the same time, when I was almost 24, I was rear ended by a semi and suffered significant health challenges of my own. Those injuries caused me to go on a quest to find health. And I met a massage therapist who was also trained in breath techniques who later referred me to an energy healer. I became impassioned with a desire to understand integrative health and several of its modalities (and I am still a junky in this department). I was looking for a way to bring all of my trainings together and offer new expanded definitions of health to people. Coaching offered me that opportunity. At the time, 2001, there wasn’t health coaching, so I trained in personal/life coaching. The rest they say is history…
2. Tell us about your coaching practice. (Niche, ideal client, etc.)
My niche these days is to work with women who are ready to live in soul alignment and follow their deeper calling. I work with them in either a longer process related to finding soul aligned work or allowing more creativity into their lives. I also work with women who want to learn how to dress in a way that lifts their energy, broadcasts their unique essence, and allows them to be more authentic and aligned.
