Jason Jones ICF-MN fills my bucket!! I look forward to the in person meetings to connect with my tribe of coaches and enjoy the way of being only coaches embody. It energizes me. https://s3.amazonaws.com/ClubExpressClubFiles/907122/graphics/Jason_Jones_1992631113.jpg
Bev Lutz ICF membership provides incredible professional networking opportunities, professional and personal growth, and opportunities to explore my strengths as I volunteer in service of my profession.  My chapter really helps me stay current with coaching, thought leadership, and learn-n-earn (CEU’s) from professional development events.  But it’s the supportive coach-friends and collaborators who have made membership for me priceless. //s3.amazonaws.com/ClubExpressClubFiles/907122/graphics/BevLutz1_669008720.jpg

Irene Kelly

Being a member of ICF offers me the opportunity for certification by the industry professional standard bearer; being a member of ICF Minnesota connects me to my professional peers for networking and collaboration.  Membership in both establishes me as “credible” and provides me opportunities to learn and grow.

Presidents Letter - Feb 2021

Currently, I am on vacation and it is a welcome break from the routine. Each morning a few members of our group take a ninety-minute walk. I am the slowest walker and do everything in my power to not slow the group down. I often start out 5 minutes earlier, keep walking when they stop to look at something, and even started using hiking poles to support my intention. My companions always keep me in view by putting me in the front of the group, talking with me while I walk, and waiting for me to catch up. They do not seem concerned about me slowing them down. I treasure their support. It has been a gift to be accepted “as is” and encouraged to move ahead.

After the walk, the group prepares breakfast for everyone. Each of us chips in to perform tasks which we assume based on our availability, energy level, and skill level. Some do the same thing every day because they are good at it and they enjoy it, while others “pinch hit” helping where needed and are able. As we work and later eat, we discuss the day’s walk and re-live memories of previous walks. It has become a special time that has brought us together as a group. I cherish the camaraderie we are building as we contribute to the needs of the larger group.

These stories remind me of how ICF Minnesota has embraced me with their support and allowed me to contribute to the larger coaching community. It is a place for coaches to receive the support they need to move ahead. It is also a place where smaller groups can grow and flourish while supporting the larger community.

This year the ICF Minnesota board will be exploring new ways to serve the coaching community. One idea under discussion is creating projects to provide opportunities to our members in support of the larger community. While I do not know exactly what they will be, I suspect these projects will fall on a continuum from short-term to long-term to provide greater flexibility for participants. Please be on the lookout for the rollout of these projects and reach out to join in the fun! Or if you have an idea for a project, share it with a board member. I believe these projects will provide you with a new level of support for yourself and help our larger community of coaches.
