Bev Lutz ICF membership provides incredible professional networking opportunities, professional and personal growth, and opportunities to explore my strengths as I volunteer in service of my profession.  My chapter really helps me stay current with coaching, thought leadership, and learn-n-earn (CEU’s) from professional development events.  But it’s the supportive coach-friends and collaborators who have made membership for me priceless. //s3.amazonaws.com/ClubExpressClubFiles/907122/graphics/BevLutz1_669008720.jpg

Irene Kelly

Being a member of ICF offers me the opportunity for certification by the industry professional standard bearer; being a member of ICF Minnesota connects me to my professional peers for networking and collaboration.  Membership in both establishes me as “credible” and provides me opportunities to learn and grow.

Meet Nirav Sheth

1. What brought you to coaching?

A strong desire to help people live happier and more fulfilling lives. After a 25-year career as an Executive in the Healthcare industry, I wanted to switch my career in a way that directly impacts people in a positive way. I have been volunteering as a Meditation Instructor for over 10 years and coaching naturally emerged as a wonderful way to fulfill my higher calling of serving people and helping them live more peaceful and happier lives.

2. Tell us about your coaching practice. (Niche, ideal client, etc.)
I am a Life Coach specializing in mental fitness and life planning, which leads to increased happiness and fulfillment in the lives of my clients. My coaching and consulting firm is Stratosphere, LLC (www.stratosphere-llc.com).

I offer a 6-week Mental Fitness Program that has been demonstrated by research at Stanford to improve happiness, relationships, and performance. Based on the NY Times bestseller book “Positive Intelligence” by Shirzad Chamine, this 6-week program was life-transforming for me personally, which is why I trained to become a coach with Positive Intelligence and am now offering this ground-breaking program to my clients.

I also help clients find meaning, purpose, and fulfillment in their lives by helping them create their Life Plan. This 5-week process includes an assessment of their current situation, defining their life vision, mission and goals, and a clear action plan to achieve these goals. As a Certified Life Coach, I also work with clients to help them achieve their goals by removing blocks and challenges they may be facing in meeting them.

3. What do you love about your coaching work?
The one-on-one interaction and deeper connection with my clients and serving as a catalyst for their growth is what I find incredibly rewarding and fulfilling!  One specific example is when I work with Life Planning clients to define their life vision and purpose, and their eyes completely light up when they come up with that for the very first time after the work we do together! Additionally, I personally grow as a coach and learn from each of these coaching sessions, which is also something I truly enjoy and love!

4. Tell us about the coaching tools, books, podcasts, etc. that you follow that helps you to stay informed.
Beyond the training and certification programs I have been through to become a Life Coach and a Mental Fitness Coach, the best learning I get is from my coaching sessions with clients. For the mental fitness program, I am continuing my advanced training with Positive Intelligence in parallel with offering the 6-week program so I can continue refining my tools, knowledge, approach, and value for my clients. The Positive Intelligence book by Shirzad Chamine is a wonderful and insightful read for those who are interested in the research, philosophy and key concepts that led to the 6-week Program.

The Life Plan framework that I use for my Life Planning clients is something I created myself based on my business and strategy background and life experiences. This framework and process has been quite effective, and I continue to hone and tweak this framework and my coaching methodology based on my coaching meetings.

5. How has ICF-MN helped you as a coach?
I have recently joined the ICF-MN Board, serving as Treasurer on the Executive Committee. I am learning a lot about the coaching profession, including the value provided as well as challenges faced, from the Board meetings as well as the events put together by ICF-MN to share learnings, enhance professional development and provide an opportunity for networking. I look forward to continuing my learning and participating on the ICF-MN Board, engaging with the broader coaching community and to contributing to achieve the ICF-MN vision of becoming a premier organization to advance the coaching profession.
