Dear Beloved CovidConnectors:
Rick and I have been deeply humbled and so moved by the rapid and generous outpouring of this community. Thank you for answering the call to support the amazing women and men serving to keep us well, safe, fed, stocked, sane, etc.
We all know this, we have been beautiful trained to know this—these incredible “life savers” just need to be held and heard by us. As Rick said so beautifully in our video—“what’s missing is the supportive conversation”—the real piece that often is not told to loved ones, friends, co-workers.
As a way to generate buzz on our project on social media, we are asking each coach to change their profile pictures to one where they are holding up their hands as if to say “We have you”. We know in the times of no haircuts, seeping in grays, no salon trips that we may not all feel at our most photogenic but we are asking anyway! We have also attached a marketing piece (see attachment below) that we are hoping you will share far and wide. What we are hearing from the people we are already serving is that they check email more often because they are eager to let people know they are safe. However, they are less present on social media but we are trying to get them every way we can!
My photo is attached so you can see how it’s positioned but also to signify that YOU are being held also by us. This doesn’t work without your kindness, tenderness and voice. Rick and I will be setting up a zoom call in a next week or so (we will email all of you) so we can powerfully connect and at least look at all of your beautiful faces and offer our immense gratitude.
