Jason Jones ICF-MN fills my bucket!! I look forward to the in person meetings to connect with my tribe of coaches and enjoy the way of being only coaches embody. It energizes me. https://s3.amazonaws.com/ClubExpressClubFiles/907122/graphics/Jason_Jones_1992631113.jpg
Bev Lutz ICF membership provides incredible professional networking opportunities, professional and personal growth, and opportunities to explore my strengths as I volunteer in service of my profession.  My chapter really helps me stay current with coaching, thought leadership, and learn-n-earn (CEU’s) from professional development events.  But it’s the supportive coach-friends and collaborators who have made membership for me priceless. //s3.amazonaws.com/ClubExpressClubFiles/907122/graphics/BevLutz1_669008720.jpg

Irene Kelly

Being a member of ICF offers me the opportunity for certification by the industry professional standard bearer; being a member of ICF Minnesota connects me to my professional peers for networking and collaboration.  Membership in both establishes me as “credible” and provides me opportunities to learn and grow.

How to Coach the Inner Critic

SPEAKER: Paul Boehnke, PCC & ICF MN Member

DATE: Thursday, January 19, 2023

TIME: 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM CST

LOCATION: Zoom

CEU’S: 1.5 (1 Core Competency .5 Resource Development)

ICF Core Competencies Addressed:

  • Active Listening
  • Communicating Effectively

PROGRAM

Regardless of the type of coaching we do, all coaches run into the brick walls built by that voice in our heads that says we’re not good enough in one way or another. We experience it ourselves and see it every day in our clients. It’s the biggest block we all experience and one that really holds us back. There are lots of great tools and techniques out there that help to address that inner critic, but the vast majority of those tools go only so deep. They tend to help for a little while but don’t really get to the root of what’s going on. Through dealing with my own inner critic and helping my clients do the same, I’ve developed not only a deep understanding of what it is, how and why it develops but, most importantly, an effective and sustainable method to overcome it.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Participants in this session will come away with the knowledge and resources to reprogram the inner critic voice in themselves as well as in their clients.
  • There will be both the presentation of ideas AND exercises to do during the presentation to put the information into action.
  • The exercises will be followed by discussion/coaching to further the work of the exercise and provide an example of how to work with clients.

Meet Paul Boehnke

As a classical musician, Paul Boehnke learned performers’ tricks to train his brain to think what he needed it to think, when he needed it to think it. And when he turned those same skills to taming the negative thoughts of his inner critic voice, he realized he had the power to not only transform his own life, but the lives of others as well. As an ICF Professional Certified Coach, Paul specializes in helping his clients transform the little voice in their heads that argues for their limitations into a champion of their potential. He has written a book about the process he uses entitled Thoughts On Demand: Turn Negative Self-Talk into Unstoppable Confidence.
