ICF Minnesota Board Nominations


• Elections are held August 20-31.

• New board members join the board in a training capacity October - December.

Here is the list of nominees for the 2019 ICF MN Board of Directors:

Name: Deb Johnson
Preferred Board Position: President Elect


What interests you about serving on the ICF Minnesota Board of Directors?

I have been serving on the board for 2 years and have had the opportunity to build awareness in the coaching community of the ICF Minnesota chapter. My vision is to continue to expand “beyond our current borders” to reach additional coaching areas and engage them in our events and community. The ability to connect and learn from the collective community is an amazing opportunity and one of the main reasons I would like to continue serving on the board. I believe the Minnesota chapter can continue to be a growing chapter and one that other chapters look at as a successful model. The ability to create an environment that is warm and welcoming as well as educational while embracing new opportunities is key.

What skills and strengths do you believe qualify you for this board position?

I have strong leadership, organizational, business acumen and communication skills that can help when driving initiatives and change. I have the ability to create a vision, develop a plan and execute the plan thru leading cross-functional teams to achieve success.
I am very passionate about inclusion and ensuring everyone is seen, heard and valued. This is based on strong listening skills that allow me to understand what each person has in terms of strengths and drive.

What interests you about serving on the ICF Minnesota Board of Directors?

I believe it will be a great opportunity to dive into the world of coaching. I look forward to learning and contributing to the success of coaching in general.

What skills and strengths do you believe qualify you for this board position?

I am organized and I am willing.


Name: Sara Krisher
Preferred Board Position: Professional Development Co-Chair 


What interests you about serving on the ICF Minnesota Board of Directors?

I am interested in continuing to work with a team of dedicated individuals who want to elevate the Coaching profession in Minnesota.

What skills and strengths do you believe qualify you for this board position?

I’ve served on the board for over three years in another capacity and understand what is expected of me.
I understand the goals of ICF Minnesota and want to be a part of accomplishing them.
I am organized, dedicated and work well with others to get work done.
I am a strategic thinker and enjoy considering the big picture while digging into the details.
I have a large network to draw from as it relates to speakers, trainers, and coaches.
I am not afraid to pick up the phone or engage in conversations.
I am comfortable at the front of the room and can introduce topics or speakers.

What interests you about serving on the ICF Minnesota Board of Directors?

I appreciate the collaboration and leadership of the board, the ability to influence the coaching community, the ability to create connections for many kinds of coaching including health coaching with the ICF global community, and the vision to build a go to collaborative for coaching and consulting in Minneapolis.


What skills and strengths do you believe qualify you for this board position?

I am an eager and dedicated member. I am willing to do the work. I am creative and innovative in my thinking. I am a natural writer and have many years of newsletter publication under my belt. I collaborate well with others and enjoy working in teams to take organizations to the next level.

What interests you about serving on the ICF Minnesota Board of Directors?

I have executive leadership skills that I enjoy contributing to Boards in service of my professional coaching colleagues. I love supporting venues for sharing best practices and networking with other coaches across niches, industries and geographic areas. I am passionate about executive, physician, and well-being coaching and seek to continuously learn and grow. Serving on a Board enables me to give back, gain new knowledge, and enjoy relationships with a particularly amazing group of people.

What skills and strengths do you believe qualify you for this board position?

Previous and current board leadership, HR executive leadership, numerous certifications for assessment interpretation, certified wellness coach, certified life coach, certified executive coach, certified health and wellness coach through the Physician Examiners Board, business operations executive leadership, Prosci Certified Change Agent, strong desire to share and learn with other professionals. Name: Ellen Carlson
Preferred Board Position: Web Support Co-Chair


What interests you about serving on the ICF Minnesota Board of Directors?

I love being part of the coaching community and having served in the Membership position gave me the opportunity to connect with many whilst being of service in a great organization.

What skills and strengths do you believe qualify you for this board position?

I have strong organizational skills and have already spend a lot of time on the back end of the website, and thereby acquired a depth of knowledge. I would love to contribute to streamline website and keep it current. I really enjoy learning how things work and having Danielle as a partner excites me. Best of all: I love working with Christopher, he has the sexiest voice!!!

Name: Judy Zimmer
Preferred Board Position: Outreach Co-Chair


What interests you about serving on the ICF Minnesota Board of Directors?

Giving back to the coaching community, being surrounded by outstanding coaches and continuing to improve our industry with outstanding coaching practices.


What skills and strengths do you believe qualify you for this board position?

I have 10 years of previous board service. I currently serve as the Chairperson for the Legacy Committee for the College of St. Benedict Capital Campaign. I have owned my own coaching practice for 10 years and have coached 2000+ individuals in my career. I hold 3 coaching certifications: Master Certified Life Coach, Certified Effectiveness Coach and Certified TIPS Innovation Coach and Trainer.

What interests you about serving on the ICF Minnesota Board of Directors?

I am interested in contributing to the positive reputation and growth of coaching, specifically in business environments. I am also eager to broaden and strengthen relationships with and among fellow coaches and the professional communities.

What skills and strengths do you believe qualify you for this board position?

I am a connector, enthusiastic about connecting people and building effective relationships. I have extensive corporate leadership experience, drive high performance, and have strong personal and professional networks that I am excited to grow.
